Description
Error Message
Error E0BB0147: The operation "Snap Volume" is not enabled for this volume.
Resolution
This error is generated when trying to create a recovery point after installing the SSR Software, but not rebooting the computer following the installation. It is important to reboot the computer after completing the installation to ensure that all the filter drivers, etc. are loaded properly before using the product.
In cases where the computer has been rebooted but the error persists, run FIXINSTALL.BAT located in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec System Recovery. Running the batch file will reregister the SYMSNAP.SYS driver and dependencies.
Note: A reboot is required after running the FIXINSTALL.BAT.
If the issue persists, debug information should be collected and sent to Veritas Technical Support for review. To generate the debug information, browse to the \Program files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Utility Folder.
Double click on the file SupportGather.exe. From the menu that appears, change the path to the Desktop and enter the case # in the requested field. Only the default selections on the left should be selected unless advised by Technical Support to select additional items. Next, click on the Gather button at the bottom of the menu and when completed, a folder with the Case # and Server name will be on the Desktop. Inside this folder there will be a .CAB file that is to be sent in for review.
