To change a Backup Exec server to a managed Backup Exec server
  1. Verify the Central Administration Server is running.
  2. Open the Backup Exec Admin Console.
  3. Go to Install Options and Licenses on this Backup Exec server.
    • Backup Exec button > Installation and Licensing > Install Options and Licenses on this Backup Exec server.
  4. Place a check mark in Local Installation.
  5. Select Additional Options, and press Next.
  6. Add licenses as required and press Next.
  7. Ensure Backup Exec is listed and selected, then press Next.
  8. On the Configure Options screen,  place a check mark in Managed Backup Exec server and press Next.
  9. Add additional languages if required and press Next.
  10. On the Central Admin Server screen, enter the name of the Central Administration Server.

  11. Under Managed Backup Exec Server Configuration, choose between the options available and press Next.

    When requested type in the password for accessing the Central administration server.

     

  12. Review the Backup Exec Install Summary and press Install to begin the install.
Note: For 64bit media servers, a prompt for 64bit installation media may be required to complete the install.
