Resolution

Perform the following to resolve this issue:

  1. Turn off Windows Firewall or any other file protection software to if this is causing the issue.

  2. Configure the TCP ports that the BE Oracle agent uses.
    For more information about What TCP ports does the Oracle Agent use please see the related document - www.veritas.com/docs/100021916
    Note: Configure the ports used by the Oracle Agent so that those do not overlap the port range used by Oracle databases, services, applications, and so on.

  3. Make sure the version of the Remote Agent on a remote Oracle server matches the installed version of Backup Exec.

  4. Create entry's in the Host files of both the backup server and the remote server for name resolutions
