Verify as standalone operation is not supported for NetApp (or any other NDMP vendor) in the current revisions of Backup Exec.
 

When the Verify jobs is set to run  (After Job finished as a separate job OR  as a separate scheduled job) it is considered standalone Verify job.

WORKAROUND:

A) Run the Verify at the end of the job.

B) If the verify is not be run right after a job completes then run a restore job with the restore job setting of  "Restore without writing data to disk (which allows you to verify the data without doing a restore)". 

This tests the validity of the data that you selected for the restore job. Backup Exec does not restore the data. For NetApp/IBM NDMP servers, you should use this option to verify data instead of the Verify option on the backup definition.

This issue is currently being considered by Veritas Corporation to be addressed in the next major revision of the product.  There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time.  Please note that Veritas Corporation reserves the right to remove any fix from the targeted release if it does not pass quality assurance tests or introduces new risks to overall code stability.  Veritas's plans are subject to change and any action taken by you based on the above information or your reliance upon the above information is made at your own risk.
