Description:
An error occurred while processing a B2D command.
 Changer: CreatePath() CreateDirectory1 failed (\\).  Error=1326

Resolution

1.  Add the Backup Exec Service Account (BESA) to the NAS device with Administrative privileges.  This account will also need to have normal Backup Exec Service Account privileges (see Related Articles). The BESA is the account the Backup Exec services are running under.

2.  Go to Backup Exec Settings | Configuraiton and Settings | Logon Accounts | Manage Logon Accounts.  Confirm the "System Logon Account" is set to "Default" and it's the same username/password as the BESA (The Backup Exec services are running under).

3.  Restart the Backup Exec Services.

4. Attempt to Add the Storage.

 

NOTE: Any rights for other Backup Exec Agents and Options will also need to be added.

 

 

Issue/Introduction

Creating a new "Backup-to-Disk" (B2D) fails with "Unable to create new backup folder. Access denied", and the Application Event log shows "Changer: CreatePath() CreateDirectory1 failed (\\ Name or IP of the NAS device>\backup\). Error=1326
