Error Message

V-79-57344-760  0xe00002f8 - Cannot open one or more mail message because of unknown MAPI errors.

"0xe0000f04 - The media server could not connect to the remote computer."

Network load balancing redirects the restore of GRT data to the correct nodes. Restoring to a node other than the load balancer blocks the restore of GRT data.

 eg:

mail.domain.com.local - Virtualized IP/hostname for network load balancing
CAS1.domain.com.local - Client Access Server 1
CAS2.domain.com.local - Client Access Server 2
Mbox1.domain.com.local - Mailbox server 1 with active databases
Mbox2.domain.com.local - Mailbox server 2 with passive databases

Restore job directed to the mailbox servers or client access servers will fail with one of the following errors:

"0xe00002f8 - Cannot open one or more mail message because of unknown MAPI errors."
"0xe0000f04 - The media server could not connect to the remote computer."

Restore job redirected to the load balancing hostname will complete.

1 - Add the network load balancer IP address and hostname to the Media server's hosts file.
     Location: %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc

2 - In the restore job properties, redirect the restore to the load balancing IP Address or Hostname using Microsoft Exchange Redirection
