Use the following steps to restore data from a drive letter mapped to X: in the original SDR backup job.

1. Recover the computer with the Required Backup Sets using SDR.
 
2. After recovering the computer, use the disk management console to recreate the volume X:

3. At the Backup Exec server, use the Backup Exec Restore Wizard to restore the data to volume X:.

 


Issue/Introduction

Simplified Disaster Recovery (SDR) cannot restore data of a volume that was mapped to drive letter X: during the original SDR backup. When selecting a point-in-time restore that contains a volume with drive letter X:, SDR will exclude that volume from the recovery operation.
