Error Message

DLO Administration Service fails to start and prompts below error :

Could not start the Veritas DLO Administration Service service on Local Computer.

Error 3. The system cannot find the path specified. 

• Due to insufficient privileges to install system service, the registry path is not created and needs to be created manually.
• DLO installation or uninstallation may fail with this error 1923, for which a registry file needs to be created.

Warning:

Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

Make sure the following registry key is pointing to the correct path:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VeritasDLOAdminSvcu\ImagePath", It should be pointing to C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas DLO\DLOAdminsvcu.exe by default.
