Cause

The /var/lib/named/proc/kcore file is a virtual file which contains the RAM the kernel can allocate and should not be touched or read.

The entire proc directory from root is already excluded in the ralus.cfg file; however, if  filesystem has proc configured in a different location (example: /var/lib/named/proc/kcore),  the backup will hang.

Resolution

Manually add a line to exclude the /var/lib/named/proc directory in the ralus.cfg file
