Description

Error Message

0xe000fe1f device not found.

Cause

These issues may occur if the NDMP port used by Backup Exec is in use by another application.

Resolution

Either change the other application to stop using port 10,000 or modify Backup Exec to use an alternate port for the Network Data Management Protocol.

If a conflict arises with the default port 10000, the default port can be changed to another port number by modifying the services file located under \System32\Drivers\etc. Change the Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) port to an alternate port number.

Example:

To change the port to 9000, add an entry in the services file as follows:
ndmp 9000/tcp #Network Data Management Protocol

NOTE: The steps above can be done on only the server(s) affected. All other remote servers can have the existing/default NDMP Port.

After adding the entry, save the file and restart Backup Exec services or Backup Exec remote agent service and check for the local drives.
