Cause
The volume that is used for a staging location does not meet the requirements.
Resolution
The volume that is used for a staging location for backup jobs should meet the following requirements:
- It is a writable NTFS volume that is local to the Backup Exec server
- It is the same sector size as the volume from which the Exchange log files were backed up
- It is not shared through Distributed File System
Note: To prevent unauthorized access during the GRT staging process, it is recommended that you update the default staging location to use a folder that only Administrators, Backup Operators, and System Accounts can access.
Issue/Introduction
The user-defined staging location added for a GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) - enabled Exchange backup job does not meet the specified requirements and the Backup Exec default backup staging location was used.
