Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
Warning: This process will remove all backup Destinations, all scheduled backups, and all history of previously run backups
1. Shut down "Veritas System Recovery" service.
2. Open Task Manager (Start > Run > taskmgr.exe). Highlight any instances of VProTray.exe or VProConsole.exe and click "End Process".
3. Delete the Value Data from the following Value using the Registry Editor (Start > Run > regedit.exe).
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\DefaultImagePath
4. Delete *.PQH from the following location:
C:\ProgramData\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\History
5. Delete *.PQJ from the following location:
C:\ProgramData\Veritas\Veritas System Recovery\Schedule
6. Start "Veritas System Recovery" service.
7. Open the console for Veritas System Recovery.
8. Open a command line on the Veritas System Recovery server (Start > Run > CMD). Delete any active network sessions if a session with the backup destination server still exists. The following is an example if 192.168.1.111 is IP address of the backup destination server is being reset:
net session \\192.168.1.111 /delete
