Final error: 0xe000fe3c - Before you can back up this resource, you must purchase and install a license key for the appropriate Backup Exec agent.

 

Cause

 

The appropriate license for a resource selected in the backup Job is not installed.

 

Resolution



1. The error can be seen when a custom license is installed, i.e. every feature of backup exec and workload being protected may need a corresponding license.  


 

2. If it is identified that the resource where the error occurred was a Linux server and no Agent for Linux and Unix license is installed on Backup Exec server, then this error can be seen. This can be the case for other features and options. 


3. Install the appropriate license which protects the resource which is part of backup job (where the failure was seen) or de-select that resource from being backed up so that the job completes successfully.

 

Issue/Introduction

Backup Job fails when the appropriate license key is not present for one or more backup job selections.
