V-79-57344-33938 - An error occurred on a query to database . V-79-57344-33938 - The login has insufficient authority. Membership of the sysadmin role is required to use VIRTUAL_DEVICE with BACKUP or RESTORE.
Resolution
The above error occurs in the job log while backing up SharePoint databases if the user account used does not have proper rights. To resolve this issue, follow the steps given below:
1. On the server which has the SharePoint databases installed ,open the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SharePoint Database Instance.
2. Right Click on "Security" and select New => Login
3. On the "Login-New" window, enter the Login name used for Sharepoint backup in the form Domain\Account
4. On "Select a page" option, select "Server Roles" and check the sysadmin role box.
