Cause
The permissions on the 'Storage Location' of DLO (NUDF) is not correctly configured
Resolution
- This may happen to select users, or may happen to all users. Check the DLO Storage location of the affected users.
- Review the permissions on the Storage Location folders. Permissions on the user specific sub-folders might be inheriting permissions from the parent folder that has inadequate permissions.
Resolution:
Check the NTFS security and the Share permissions on the folder that is defined as the Storage location of DLO (NUDF) It should be configured as follows ....
Share Permissions on the root NTFS folder defined as the NUDF
Administrators (group) Full Control
DLO Service account: Full Control
Everyone: Full Control
Security Permissions on the root NTFS folder defined as the NUDF
Administrators (group) Full Control
DLO Service account: Full Control
SYSTEM: Full Control
Everyone: Read and Execute
Note: To avoid conflicts with permissions, the inheritable permissions from the parent folder should not propagate to the NUDF folder

Issue/Introduction
On the user's laptop / desktop, the DLO Agent icon in the tray is seen as disabled or grayed-out. On the DLO administration console the following Alert is seen:
"The desktop agent was unable to create the recovery key file \\<servername>\<NUDF_folder>\<Domain-Username>\.dlo\recovery2.7fffffff. The desktop agent will automatically retry"
