"0xe0000900 - The requested media is not listed in the media index and could not be mounted. To add the media's catalog information to the disk-based catalogs, run an inventory operation on the media and resubmit the Catalog operation."

Cause

After a successful backup, cannot see restore selections. In the restore selections window the above pop-up message is displayed.

Update to catalog file C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Catalogs\\688C35B0-6530-490A-B82A-A150808DF31C_3.fh failed.
 
Reason: There is not enough space on the disk. 

Resolution

The above event error indicates that there is not enough space on the hard drive to write the Catalog file.
 
1. In Backup Exec, navigate to  Tools >> Options  >> Catalogs
2. Note the Catalog drive and path location and then check the destination for hard drive space limitations. 
3. Free up enough hard drive space to accommodate the catalogs.
 
Alternatively, it is recommended moving the catalog destination to another drive other than the system drive to avoid problems in the future.

Change the location of Catalogs folder to another volume using BEUtility.
