Description

Error Message

Error EC8F1F5B: Cannot create offsite copy for job
Error E7D10053: Unable to copy from file
Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'The specified network name is no longer available'
Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'Unspecified error'.

Cause

This issue is due to network errors.  Connection to the Offsite location is being lost/dropped during the offsite copy phase of a backup job.

Resolution

  1. Make sure the agent system's network utilization is minimal during offsite copy process.
  2. Check to be sure the VSR service has not become hung after the backup process finishes but before the offsite copy process begins. If it is hung, restart the services and re-run the job using the "Run job with options" to start an incremental backup. Once the incremental finishes, see if the offsite copy begins.
  3. Check the network connection between the agent and offsite location (e.g., run an AppCritical test); do a large file check. Update the NIC firmware/drivers, look for semaphore timeout Windows application events and ensure that the connection is not metered/limited in bytes passed and that the offsite location does not need a "stay alive" connection to be sent.
