Backup Exec Job Engine will connect to the Data and Job Log locations when the service is starting. A large or malformed job log may cause high memory utilization when the Backup Exec Job Engine starts which may cause Backup Exec service failures.
Resolution:
Perform one of the following options:
Option 1:
Change the job log location for Backup Exec by using BEUtility

Option 2:
Remove the Job Logs from the default Data directory.
By default, Backup Exec job log are located within the Veritas Backup Exec Data directory (X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data).
Perform the following steps to remove the job logs.
1. Stop the Backup Exec Services using the Windows Services Applet services.msc
2. Move the BEX_SERVERNAME_xxxxx.xml files to a new folder
3. Start the Backup Exec services using the Windows Services Applet services.msc
