Description
Error Message
V-79-65323-3036: Database 'model' is in warm-standby state (set by executing RESTORE WITH STANDBY) and cannot be backed up until the entire load sequence is completed.
Cause
If a SQL database restore job is run with the "Place database in standby state" option checked, the database is left in read-only mode to prevent users from making updates until after the last transaction logs have been restored. If there are no transaction logs available for restore, no more restore jobs can be run thus preventing the Backup Exec from bringing the database online.
Resolution
1. Detach and reattach the database files in SQL management studio to bring the database out of recovery mode.
-Note: you will receive errors during the detach and will need to cancel out of the detach screen. The detach however, should still have been successful.
2. If the database does not show (Standby / Read Only) inside SQL Server Management Studio, It is possible the selection list has corrupted. Re-create the selection list for the SQL backup and re-run the job. For assistance creating a new selection list, please refer to the following article link:
Applies To
Examining the database inside SQLServer Management Studio shows the database greyed out with a (Standby / Read Only) next to the name.
