Cause
The above error is usually generated when the tape drive or tape library is having problems communicating with the server. This issue generally occurs because incorrect drivers are loaded, or the drivers are not up to date. It may also be caused by not having the latest firmware for the SCSI controller or tape drive.
Resolution
- Ensure that the latest drivers and firmware have been installed for the tape drive, robotic library, and for the SCSI controller.
- Additionally, check the Event Viewer for Event IDs 9, 11 or 15.(This events Id refers to hardware issues)
- Refer to How to troubleshoot issues with a Robotic Library (autoloader/changer) and/or Tape Drive(s).
