The alert is reported because Backup Exec has detected that a robotic library that supports mixed media is attached to the Backup Exec media server.

If a robotic library uses different types of drives and supports the use of bar code labels, Backup Exec can be configured with Bar Code rules so that the software can identify which media type to use in a drive. When Backup Exec reads the bar code rule, it locates the type of media that corresponds to the prefix or suffix and then mounts the media into a drive that accepts that type of media.

After configuring the robotic library for mixed media support (reference the Original Equipment Manufacturer robotic library manual), configure mixed media support in Backup Exec by enabling bar code rules. Refer to the Related Documents section for information on configuring the bar code rules.
