The job failed with the following error: An unknown error occurred within the NDMP subsystem.
V-79-57344-34070 - Snapshot Technology: Initialization failure on: "System?State". Snapshot technology used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
Snapshot technology error (0xE0008516): The database specified for the snapshot was not backed up because the database was not mounted.
Cause
This error may be observed after Backup Exec has been upgraded from one version to another, in a job that existed before the upgrade.
Resolution
To resolve the error try the following steps :
1. Apply all available service packs and hotfixes for the installed version of Backup Exec
2. Delete and then recreate the job that is returning the error.

"An unknown error occurred within the NDMP subsystem" is returned while backing up the System State of a Windows server. The NDMP option may not be in use, even though the error message mentions NDMP.
