Error Message

High Priority Error: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of New Volume (X:\).
Error EC8F03EA: Cannot create a virtual volume image of the selected drive.
Error E0BC0002: Object SME~Computer~BgMXXXXXXXXRegion-0~VMXXXXXXXXRegion-X-X not found.
Error E0BC0002: Object %1 not found. 0xE0BC0002

Cause

This issue may occur when 2 or more volumes share a volume GUID or Disk Signature. This can happen when a disk\volume clone or copy is done and these values are copied during that process. VSR uses these values to determine which volumes to backup and the values should be unique for each disk on the system.

Resolution

Check the PARTINFO report to verify if this is the issue. If this is the case, deleteing and recreating one of the volumes will allow a new disk signature and\or GUID to be assigned to the new volume. Please proceed with caution is this solution is chosen.

*Warning: Do NOT delete the active system volume. Doing so will cause the system to become non-bootable. It is highly recommended that a backup of each volume be taken from the Veritas Recovery Disk Environment before deleting any data. That data can then be restored if necessary.
