Error Message
Unable to save the backup "SEVERNAME Full Backup".
The backup definition has an incremental or differential backup job that is enabled for Granular Recovery Technology (GRT), but the full or copy backup job is not enabled for GRT. You must enable GRT for the full or copy backup job if you want to enable it for the incremental or differential backup job.

Cause
Job default settings have an inconsistency within the GRT settings.
Resolution
Go to Configuration and Setting, Job Defaults and select the job default which fits your configuration:

Add the incremental or differential backup template back to the schedule section to expose the job defaults view for these templates.

Now that the Incremental or Differential backup template is added, select the template and review the highlighted section for any inconsistency in regards to GRT settings..

An example of such an inconsistency;
under Exchange; GRT is enabled for the Incremental / Differential template.

Deselect the "Use Backup Exec Granular Restore Technology (GRT) to enable........ "
