Error Message

An error has occurred because the server has received incorrect or invalid data.

The Backup Exec server specified and the device/storage devices pool specified do not share any devices.

The backup exec server selected for the job has no access to the local/unshared storage targeted on the second server for the duplicate job.

This behavior is as designed.  For a duplicate job to run, targeted to storage on another server, the server selected from the pool should have shared access to both source and target storage devices.

Example:  CAS server with no local storage.

MBES1 server has locally attached robotic library and deduplication folder shared with MBES2 server.

MBES2 server has the deduplication folder shared with MBES1 server.

If the backup job is created for a remote server to the deduplication folder and if MBE2 server is selected in the Backup Exec server pool then the duplicate job does not show the tape library in storage tab of the job.

The above duplicate job will show the tape library of the MBE2 server in the storage tab,but this job can not be saved and the following error is shown.

CAS server with a Locally attached Tape Library
MBES1 Server with a local Deduplication Storage or OST Storage shared with the CAS Server
If the Primary backup is delegated to run on MBES and duplicate is setup to use the CAS Server Robotic Library, the above error will be seen since the Robotic Library on the CAS is not shared with MBES.
