Cause
IP address of the ESX host mentioned in the HOSTS file of the Backup Exec server is incorrect.
Resolution
- Go to the command prompt (Start > Run > Cmd)
- Ping the ESX host and note the following information:
- IP address
- ESX Host Name.
- Add host entries on the Backup Server for the ESX Server:
Browse to the hosts file location::\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and add the information recorded in the previous step.

127.0.0.1 ESX_ServerName
