NDMP data Backup and Restore job complete successfully but report bytecount as "0 Bytes"

Cause

 NDMP Debug Log from the EMC NDMP device:

Resolution

This issue does not affect the Backup or Restore function. The data is backed up and restored successfully.

 

Contact EMC support to enable NDMP debug and run the backup job.

NDMP log from EMC NDMP server should be reviewied for "bytes_processed=0".

EMC is working on a fix for this issue and the fix is expected to be available by March 2015. Please check with EMC with reference to the following BUG ID

Issue/Introduction

Backup of NDMP data completes successfully but the backup job reports 0 bytes backed up. The same is observed with restore of NDMP data where the restore job is successful but it reports 0 bytes restored.
