Cause
An expiration date of a backup snapshot is set when "Enable Checkpoint restart" is enabled on the job option.
Using the "Enable Checkpoint restart" option sets an expiration date of the backup snapshot.
The expiration is a non-configurable, "2 days" is fixed.
For example
Snapshot Created: March 14, 2014 (02:47PM)
Snapshot Expire: March 16, 2014 (02:47PM)
Backup Exec is checking expired snapshots.
If Backup Exec finds expired snapshots which has been passed over 2 days, the snapshot is deleted.
Resolution
Remove a check "Enable Checkpoint restart" on "Advanced Open File" on the backup job option.
Issue/Introduction
The backup job, which is enabled "Enable Checkpoint restart", has been passed 2 days since the job has started.
Then the job fails with an error "Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed"
