Error Message

Following error is recorded in Backup Exec installation log (bkupinst.log) Path: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs\bkupinst.log
Could not find file 'C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Backup Exec\{017CF375-DCCC-4717-B3A2-F549CE54BDE5}\IFProducts.xml"

"_setup.exe" process is not seen in Task Manager.

Cause

Missing installation \ Setup files

Resolution

1. Copy "C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Backup Exec\{017CF375-DCCC-4717-B3A2-F549CE54BDE5}\IFProducts.xml" file from any other Backup Exec server

or

2. Copy "X:\BE\WinNT\Install\BEx64\Install\IFProducts.xml" or "F:\BE\WinNT\Install\BE32\Install\IFProducts.xml" from Backup Exec installation media.
 

Restart the Backup Exec services and re-try installation.
