During setup of DLO, the Dedupe Administration Service and Dedupe Server is configured. That will enable the deduplication feature in DLO.
Post installation, the following Configuration Steps needs to be performed to activate deduped backups.
- Add Dedupe Server to DLO Admin Server.
- Create Dedupe Storage Pool (DSP)
- Create Dedupe Storage location (DSL)
- Map DSL to an existing or a newly created DLO Storage Location (DLOSL)
- Create a Dedupe Enabled Profile (DEP)
- Assign DEP and DLOSL to the USER.
- Add Dedupe Server to DLO Admin Server:
- In SDLO console, click Setup tab, right click on Dedupe Server and click New Dedupe Server… See Fig. 1 & 2.

- Enter the details on Add Dedupe Server dialog box, like Name, Description, Server Host and port number. Click OK. Note: Server Host is the host where dedupe is installed.
- Create Dedupe Storage Pool (DSP):
- Right click on Server listed under Dedupe Server properties and click Manage. See Fig. 3 and Fig 4.
- Under System tab, it should show account configured during setup of Dedupe feature. If not, click on Add and specify a account.
- On Dedupe Storage Pool tab click on Add to add the dedupe storage pool (DSP)
Note: DSP name is just a logical name used to identify a group of DSLs.

- Create Dedupe Storage Location (DSL):
- On Manage Dedupe Server dialog box (Fig. 4), click on the third tab Dedupe Storage Location (DSL),
- Click on Add and Enter Name and other details on Add Dedupe Storage Location dialog box and click Add. See Fig. 5

- Map DSL to an existing or a newly created DLO Storage:
This is to map the Dedupe Storage location (DSL) to DLO Storage Location (NUDF). See Fig. 6
- Under Setup tab, right click on the server under Storage Location and click New Storage Location
- Under Computer Name select the server where new storage location you are going to create. Typically SDLO server.
- Give path and Storage name.
- Under Dedupe Storage Location click on the drop down menu and select the DSL created in 3rd step shown above.

- Create a Dedupe Enabled Profile (DEP):
- Under Setup on SDLO console, click on Profiles under Settings.
- Right click on Profiles folder and click New Profile if creating a new profile. If Profile already exist, then on right pane, right click on the existing profile and click on Properties .
- Here, select Enable Dedupe option under General tab (See Fig. 7). This will map the profile with dedupe configuration done above.

- Complete Profile settings on other tabs.
- Once the User is assigned to this Profile, User is ready for backup to dedupe enabled storage.
Note: There is no visible changes on DLO Agent side GUI.
