Error EBAB03F8: A check that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. 'CHECK failed, Computer::CreateImageFile: Computer.cpp(1487): guid != Guid() && sequence != 0xffffffff.'. 0xEBAB03F8 (Symantec System Recovery)
Cause
Other 3rd party backup software is installed onto the system. This can include any volume, file based, or application-based backup software (such as SQL specific backup software). 3rd party VSS-based backup software can cause conflicts with VSS, and ultimately SR.
Resolution
Remove 3rd party backup software and allow the system to reboot. If the SR runs succesfully, it is recommended to use SR (a full VSS-aware backup application) as the backup solution.
Issue/Introduction
When attempting to create a scheduled backup of a volume or volumes with System Recovery (SR), this error occurs. An one-time full backup may complete succesfully.
