V-79-57344-38725 - 0xe0009745 - One or more virtual disks contain volumes that do not support Granular Recovery Technology (GRT)

Resolution

To enable the VHDs to mount correctly for GRT, modify your SAN
policy using the following steps:
1. On the Backup Exec server, open a command prompt.
2. Type C:\> DISKPART
3. At the DISKPART prompt, type one of the following commands:
SAN POLICY=OFFLINESHARED
SAN POLICY=ONLINEALL
4. Type EXIT.

Issue/Introduction

This error occurs if Windows SAN policy is set to OfflineShared in the Windows Advanced Server and Data Center. All other versions of Windows default to OnlineAll. Review the Microsoft Windows SAN Policy documentation for more information.

To confirm the issue, follow the steps below.
1. To confirm that the disk is mounting, but showing offline, while the Hyper-V backup is running, open Computer Management > Disk Management. You should see a disk mounted with a small information icon. When you click the icon, the message "The disk is offline because of a policy set by an administrator" should appear.
2. Check the Windows SAN Policy.
- On the Backup Exec server, open a command prompt.
- Type C:\> DISKPART
- At the prompt, type SAN
After a delay, the SAN policy status should show as OnlineAll, OfflineAll or OfflineShared. The OfflineAll policy prevents the VHDs from mounting correctly for Backup Exec GRT.
