Error Message
V-79-40960-38487 The previous backup of a Hyper-V virtual machine with Microsoft Incremental Support enabled was not performed by Backup Exec. Run the corresponding full backup job or set the 'Use the full backup method for virtual machines that do not support incremental or differential backups' option on the Virtual Machines options for this job.
Resolution
Do the following to enable the 'Use the full backup method for virtual machines that do not support incremental or differential backups' option:
1. On the Backup and Restore tab, right-click the job.
2. Click Edit Backups.
3. In the Backup box, click Edit.
4. In the left pane, click Virtual Machines.
5. Select Use the full backup method for virtual machines that do not support incremental or differential backups.
Issue/Introduction
This situation occurs when a Hyper-V host that is selected for backup has virtual machines with Microsoft Incremental backup enabled. If a full backup for one of the virtual machines fails and the option "Use the full backup method for virtual machines that do not support incremental or differential backups" is not selected for the backup job, the Backup Exec Agent for Hyper-V cannot fall back to a full backup.
