Error EBAB03EE: Operating System API [RegistryOperations::SaveKeyAsHive] RegSaveKeyExW(TARGET_HIVE_SYSTEM; C:\VProRecovery\TargetSystem.hiv) failed.
Error 000005AA: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service

 

Cause

This issue is typically caused either by corruption on the hard disk of the original source system or with hidden "ghost" devices that have not been removed from the original source system.

 

Resolution

1.  Remove all ghost devices from Device Manager (disk drives, NICs, SCSI and RAID controllers) on the original system:

2.  Run a CHKDSK /R /F on the original system's drives

3.  Create a new backup
