Description

Error Message

DLO Desktop Agent
Information V-139-52224-100 or V-138-52224-100
Unable to connect to DLO Administration Server
Failed to load configuration settings.
Either you are not connected to the network or the Server is not responding. DLO needs to be able to contact the Server to perform this action.

Cause

This message can occur if the DBInstance registry key on the DLO Agent does not correctly reflect the Database Instance name.

By default, the DLO Database Instance name is DLO. However, it is possible for users to install the database into an existing SQL instance which can have any name or be blank.

Solution

The file named "UACConfig.ini" located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Veritas\Veritas DLO\DLO folder will need to be modified and updated to reflect the correct information.

DBInstance
DBName
DBServer

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

Once the correct Database Instance name is known:

1. Open the registry editor on the machine running the DLO Agent
2. Navigate into: HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Veritas\DLO\DB
3. Locate the key called 'DBInstance' and set it to the correct value
4. Terminate any running instance of DLOClientu.exe and re launch 'Veritas DLO Desktop Agent'

Issue/Introduction

After installing DLO newly or implementing a DLO Migration, the following pop-up error is observed on some DLO Agents when attempting to connect:
