0xe000035e - The Backup Exec Agent for Microsoft Exchange was not used to create the last full backup of this database. You must use the Exchange Agent to run a full backup before you run a differential or incremental backup.

V-79-57344-862 - The Backup Exec Agent for Microsoft Exchange was not used to create the last full backup of this database. You must use the Exchange Agent to run a full backup before you run a differential or incremental backup.

Third party applications like Acronis "true image" or any other software, when taking the Virtual machine images, changes the Exchange database LSN (logical sequence number).

This can be confirmed by using ESEUTIL /ML against the concerned Exchange database.
 

1. Take the following actions to be sure this is the problem
2. Take a full exchange image
3. Check using the ESUTIL /ML .  Be sure backup exec was the last application to take the backup..
4. Run the Incremental or differential backup job. Check that it runs OK.
5. Run the Acronis application.
6. Check using the ESUTIL /ML
7. Run an incremental Backup. It will probably fail with error "0xe000035e"

Change the schedule of the applications so that they can work in harmony.

• Acronis true image installed in the host to take daily images of the Hyper-V virtual machines (included the Exchange virtual machine).
