Error Message

EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Recovery point of C:\. Error E7D1001F: Unable to write to file. Error EBAB03F1: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

Cause

This error could occurred due to one of the following reason:

1) Disk defragmentation

2) Disk Space

3) VSS writer issue

 

Resolution

1) Check whether there is enough space on the destination drive as well as on source drive.

2) Defragment the drive(s) and then rerun the backup

3) On command prompt type CHKDSK /r /f, reboot the machine and rerun the backup again.

4) Try disabling the antivirus.

5) Try to take a backup on local drive.

6) Check whether the backup is a full VSS Backup.,

if yes, uncheck the Perform Full VSS Backup, and then rerun the backup

if not taking full VSS Backup then try to reregister the symsnap provider.

7) Check the VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS on command prompt

check how many writers are in failed status, this could be an issue with the VSS writers
