Cause
Please gather SMEDump.txt files of when the backup succeeded and when the backup failed. Both files reveal that two disk signatures on one physical drive can be found. This issue may occur when the mirroring volumes created on ftServer has 2 disk signatures.
This issue is not limited to ftServer and may be seen on any volume which reports different disk signatures at different times. This can often be due to hardware or software issues in a RAID environment.
Resolution
Generally, one volume should have only one unique disk signature. Please confirm how to create the mirroring volumes again.
If disk signatures continue to change and the issue persists, contact the software or hardware vendor associated with the RAID.
