Following is observed in the NDMP debug (by using "ndmpd debug n" command on NDMP server):

 [ndmpd:285]: Data connection type: 1

 [ndmpd:285]: TCP Addr: x.x.x.x

 [ndmpd:285]: TCP Port: 50302

 [ndmpd:285]: Error code: NDMP_NO_ERR

 [ndmpd:285]: NDMP message type: NDMP_DATA_ABORT

 [ndmpd:285]: NDMP message replysequence: 8

Note: x.x.x.x is the IP adress on which the Backup Exec media server communicates with the NDMP server

Cause

This issue can occur if the Backup Exec media server is unable to communicate/establish a network connection to the NDMP server.

Resolution

Ensure that Network Interface Card (NIC) on the media server is enabled & configured properly with the correct IP address so that it can establish a connection to the NDMP server.
